14 Cat-Friendly Human Snacks
While most human foods aren’t apt for cats, felines and humans share a similar affinity toward quite a few people’s foods. Keep in mind that some of these human snacks are harmless only when fed once in a while. They should be a bi-weekly or once-a-week treat and not be given as a replacement for cat food. Fish Fish with many fats and oil like mackerel and tuna are good for a cat’s brain, eyesight, and joints. Cheese Cheese, cottage cheese, especially, is high in calcium and protein to be given to cats once in a while along with fish and meat. Carrots Cooked carrots are a great source of vitamin A for a cat. Though they don’t necessarily have to eat vegetables, it can make for a tasty snack once in a while. Carrots can be boiled whole and given to cats so they can gnaw on them. Berries Berries are high in antioxidants and low in sugar so that they can make for tasty treats. Cats especially enjoy strawberries and blueberries. Cats might not like other berries like black currants and blackberries as they are very low in sugar. Bananas The potassium in bananas is very beneficial for cats.
